If you have fewer than 11 employees, you are exempt from maintaining records of occupational illnesses or injuries as they occur unless you are selected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to participate in the Annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illness. However, you are not exempt from complying with Bloodborne Pathogen, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, and Portable fire extinguisher standards.
